Year 1 & 2 Computer Coding at St Joachim’s
At St Joachim’s Primary School, our Year 1 & 2 students are learning computer coding! Coding is telling a computer, app, phone or website what you want it to do.
Using computers and tablets, students learn to write and sequence instructions.
The benefits of learning coding at a young age are enormous and include the development of problem-solving skills, computational thinking, persistence, collaboration, and a deeper understanding of a range of mathematical concepts and language.
St Joachim’s children in Years 1 & 2 used their programming knowledge to make a short animation showing the journey their family members made coming to Australia from other countries.
