The two parish primary schools, St Anne’s and St Joachim’s celebrated their Feast Day on Wednesday July 26.
Students from St Anne’s were bussed to St Joachim’s so that they could join with St Joachim’s students for some fun activities. As we know, St Anne and St Joachim are the grandparents of Jesus, so grandparents were invited to join the students from both schools as they celebrated Mass in the St Joachim’s hall. There was a special cake which was cut by a grandmother from each of the schools and then shared with other grandparents after the Mass.
This year is the 30th anniversary of St Joachim’s school and to acknowledge that, the Principal of St Anne’s, Rod Shaw, presented the Principal of St Joachim’s, Paul Dwyer, with the gift of a plant.
