All religious workers, that is, people (paid and volunteers) who work at or in connection with a place of worship will be subject to Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions.

Religious workers in our Parishes would typically perform (but not limited to) roles such as Parish Secretary, Bookkeeper, Livestreaming technicians and assistants, musicians and domestic support.

For these employees, the following key dates apply:

By 15 October all workers need to be vaccinated or show that they have a booking for vaccination by:

  • 22 October 2021 – latest booking for first dose
  • 26 November 2021 – latest booking for second dose.

In order to continue working, workers must provide Vaccine information to the Parish engaging them. The Parish will hold this information in confidence and not disclose it to any person except as required by law.

Vaccination information can be recorded in a variety of documents such as a letter from a medical practitioner, a certificate of immunisation or an immunisation history statement obtained from the Australian Immunisation Register.
