In conjunction with Australian Catholic University, the Archbishop is delighted to be hosting American speaker and author Mary Eberstadt for a public conversation on the topic: The future of humanity passes by way of the family.

The conversation will be held on Tuesday 25 October, 12.30-2pm at the Catholic Leadership Centre, 576 Victoria Pde, East Melbourne. Tickets are free; however, bookings are essential with a light lunch provided on the day. Bookings can be made via the following link:

About Mary Eberstadt

Mary Eberstadt holds the Panula Chair in Christian Culture at the Catholic Information Center in Washington DC and is Senior Research Fellow at the Faith & Reason Institute. She is a well-respected speaker, author and commentator on contemporary culture, communicating with profound clarity, wisdom and conviction on a vast array of topics including: the centrality of the family, religious freedom and secularisation. Well-known Princeton Professor of Jurisprudence, Robert George has described Mary as “one of America’s most insightful – as well as compassionate analysts”. Harvard Professor and former United States Ambassador to the Holy See, Mary Ann Glendon has said, “No theorist of secularization has come close to Eberstadt in sociological insight or explanatory power”.
