Please find here a letter Archbishop Peter have signed with other faith leaders regarding an Inquiry being conducted by the Australian Law Reform Commission (ALRC).
The ALRC’s Consultation Paper, published here, makes a number of suggestions which would be catastrophic for faith-based schools, including Catholic schools, throughout Australia. The proposals would effectively remove the right of faith-based schools to express their religious identity and culture.
We ask that you please express your strong hopes to protect faith-based schools from further obstacles that will impede their ability to express our Catholic faith:
